Deirdre Graham sits in
Deirdre Graham with the very best of folk and roots music from Scotland and beyond.
A 200-year-old flute once owned by Robert Burns’s son has been restored and played again by flautist Claire Mann as part of the fundraising campaign to restore Robert Burns Ellisland Museum and Farm. The Farm was built by Burns in 1788 and was where he composed over 130 poems and songs, including Auld Lang Syne.
Alongside singer Robyn Stapleton and harpist Rebecca Hill, Claire was entrusted to travel to New York City with the flute for Tartan Week 2026. Claire and Robyn join Deirdre live to talk more about this incredible instrument, the history it holds and its cultural significance.
