1. Teenage Kicks
A joyful and occasionally cheeky celebration of Mike Peters in the year of his passing, by those who knew him best.
In this honest and emotional pair of programmes Gareth Jones explores the life, work, relationships and personality of the late Mike Peters of The Alarm. Gareth was with Mike at the beginning of his career & remained close until his death in April 2025.
Mike was a musician, a cancer survivor for almost 30 years, a hero to many, a Welsh icon鈥. and one of Gareth's dearest and longest-lasting friends. Because of this Gareth has unprecedented access to Mike鈥檚 closest friends, band members and musicians who all explain what it was like to have Mike as a friend or ally.
In Part 1 Gareth talks to Mike鈥檚 friends as a child and a teenager.
In Part 2 Gareth hears from Slim Jim Phantom of The Stray Cats and U2鈥檚 The Edge
