Unprepared to succumb to a story that began with knock-backs, Gary wrote his own place in the history and folklore of every club he played for - a winner at Motherwell, champion at Leeds, immortal at Liverpool, and a Scotland captain of some repute. But there were lows to counter the highs, and Gary discusses these with searing honesty.
