In the Highlands and Islands, Calum explores the caves of Assynt, a Unesco global geopark, before travelling north to Orkney where there is a wealth of archeological underground sites. But it is also an example of the modern use of subterranean sites: oil to service the Scapa Flow naval sites was hidden underground in vast tanks beneath Wee Fea hill. The war theme continues as Calum visits a Cold War underground bunker in Inverness.
