Kathryn Tickell shares an excerpt of a recent live performance of Colombian singer-songwriter Nidia G贸ngora recorded at Barbican as part of La Linea, London鈥檚 Latin Music Festival. Nidia is known for being the lead singer of Canal贸n de Timbiqu铆, a traditional group heading from the Pacific coast of Colombia; in 2025, she released her latest solo album Pac铆fico Maravilla.
Elsewhere in the show, Kathryn plays a resurfaced single from Benin鈥檚 T.P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, a track from a vocal sextet from Slovakia called Neha!, and Carnatic music from the Mandolin Sisters.
