The Grand Final of 麻豆社 Radio Scotland鈥檚 Young Classical Musician 2026 features three of Scotland鈥檚 talented young musicians performing alongside the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra with conductor Jonathan Bloxham.
Our finalists are;
Oboist Alasdair Cottee, performing Vaughan Williams : Concerto for Oboe and Strings
Cellist Finn Mannion, performing Dvorak鈥檚 Cello Concerto, (1st Movement, Allegro).
Pianist Anastasia-Maria Barbu, performing Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini, variations 11-24.
Plus, before the judges announce the winner, the 麻豆社 SSO perform the second of three overtures with a theme of nature by Antonin Dvorak. Carnivale Overture combines exuberance and high spirits with moments of warmth and tenderness.
The Grand Final is presented by Judith Ralston and performed in front of an audience at Glasgow's City Halls.
