Episode 2

Annie’s home is packed with inherited hoards. JB finds a rare classic, while Lauren uses a food staple for a clever fix to boost an item’s sale for Annie’s beloved charity.

The past few years have not been easy for Annie and Louie. After saying goodbye to too many family members, they have found themselves responsible for the belongings those loved ones left behind. Most recently, they inherited the estate of their late Uncle Brendan, including the enormous collection of items he had hoarded over a lifetime.

Now, the apartment Annie and Louie share has been completely overrun. Annie has even had to rent multiple storage units just to contain everything. As the cost of those units continues to mount, Annie is determined to honour her relatives’ wishes and find the perfect new homes for the items. And so, the pair have sent out an antique SOS to the team.

Wading through mountains of boxes and shelves stacked with potential treasures, auctioneer JB uncovers an early edition of Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll that could prove a bestseller at auction. A box of treasured mementos from Annie’s RAF officer father takes her down memory lane. And all the while, Louie and JB bond over their shared love of vintage toys.

Meanwhile, Lauren faces a series of restoration challenges. A Victorian writing bureau is in serious need of attention, but it’s the freezing winter weather that could pose the biggest test to her skills. She deploys an unusual tomato paste trick to tackle a tarnished copper coal box and crafts a bespoke display stand for a set of religious icons discovered by JB.

On auction day, JB and Lauren hope not only to find new homes for the inherited items, but also to raise money for a charity close to Annie and Louie’s hearts.
