As Summah and Lilli touch down in Tenerife for a well-earned break, male midwife Howie helps Natasha give birth. Mollie is back on shift with some exciting news.
Midwives Summah and Lilli have touched down in Tenerife, where they are enjoying a well-earned break and hoping to forget about life on the ward for a week. But the pair don鈥檛 plan on just lying by the pool, they鈥檝e got an action-packed itinerary, which includes camel riding, a trip to the local water park and, of course, plenty of cocktails.
Back in Basildon, male midwife Howie is on the Delivery Suite and has an equally packed schedule. Howie is from Zambia and is part of Basildon University Hospital鈥檚 drive to bring in international midwives to help fill the staffing shortfall.
In Zambia it鈥檚 quite common for midwives to be male, but in Basildon Howie is finding that some of his patients are a bit surprised by his presence. Tonight, Howie is looking after Natasha and her husband Lee, who are expecting their second baby.
Also working on the Delivery Suite is Mollie, who has just returned from a trip to Bali with some exciting news; she鈥檚 engaged! But there鈥檚 no time to acclimatise to life back on the ward, as she鈥檚 rushed off her feet.
Back in Tenerife, Summah and Lilli are struggling to unwind. On an evening out, their thoughts return to life on the ward and the demands of the job. They discuss what their futures might hold in their chosen career.
