Ian attempts to look on the bright side, and Tom is confident about his future.
Kirsty and Helen speculate on the sort of pastimes Kirsty鈥檚 baby will grow up to have. Helen wonders whether Kirsty鈥檚 told Tom about the pregnancy. Kirsty responds that she hasn鈥檛 really told anyone yet.
Tom鈥檚 admiring images of greenhouses, and Natasha humours him. He鈥檇 prefer her to take a proper interest and be supportive. She confirms her support but is more focused on the boxes of botanicals she鈥檚 received to inform her own business idea. She assures Tom that even though she鈥檚 open-minded about the new parlour, she鈥檚 still on board with his project. Heartened, Tom grins that Helen might have a fight on her hands.
Kate seeks Ian鈥檚 advice on a customer complaint at Grey Gables but he鈥檚 too busy to help, and snaps at her. He later apologises; he鈥檚 not sure he鈥檚 cut out for this work. There鈥檚 only so far the Martyn Gibson management coaching handbook can go. Kate probes further and Ian admits to being unsettled at home. As well as keeping Xander away from Brian, he鈥檚 spotted that Adam鈥檚 looking at properties far afield. They鈥檝e made a life in Ambridge, and Ian鈥檚 afraid Adam could burn himself out. Kate thinks the one good thing that鈥檚 come out of the situation is the amount of quality time Adam can now spend with Xander. She counsels Ian to see Adam鈥檚 enforced banishment from Home Farm as an opportunity rather than a disaster. Ian concedes
