Tony鈥檚 This Spiritual Life guest is acclaimed actor and writer Paterson Joseph. Over a career that has spanned more than 30 years, he鈥檚 played everything from heroes to villains, and is perhaps best known as the ruthless boss Alan Johnson in Peep Show. He鈥檚 also appeared alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Beach and Timoth茅e Chalamet in Wonka. Alongside his acting career, Paterson is now an award-winning author whose books shine a light on overlooked figures from Black history.
And Tony hears all about Nerdcon, a Christian summer camp with a difference for young people in Scotland which appeals to their love of fantasy worlds, dressing up in costumes and board games! The idea came from a recognition that some young people - many of them creative or neurodivergent - might not naturally gravitate towards more traditional youth events.
And the Hebridean artist Scott C Park,鈥痺ho鈥痶hrough his music鈥痚xplores his time as a committed teen Christian,鈥痗hurch band player鈥痑nd鈥痶he鈥痲uestions that followed.
The week鈥檚 headlines and the themes behind them will be debated by Tony鈥檚 Faith forum panel, who this week are: Professor Joe Goldblatt 鈥 ambassador to the Edinburgh Interfaith Association, Rosa Murray 鈥 educationalist and practicing Catholic, and Ravi Ladva 鈥 member of the Hindu community.
