The world鈥檚 greatest classical music festival gets under way live from the Royal Albert Hall, with works by Copland, Gershwin and Ravel.
Petroc Trelawny and Georgia Mann guide us through a night of spectacular music-making to kick off the summer's Proms season. Copland鈥檚 landmark Fanfare for the Common Man opens, followed by Gershwin鈥檚 ever-popular An American in Paris, and Ravel鈥檚 bluesy Piano Concerto, performed by piano superstar Yunchan Lim. A world premiere by Josephine Stephenson starts the second half, followed by Finzi鈥檚 ode to the patron saint of music 鈥� For St Cecilia 鈥� with tenor Thomas Atkins.
Dalia Stasevska conducts the 麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra, 麻豆社 Singers and 麻豆社 Symphony Chorus.
