In Ayr, crewmates Sophie and Shelby treat a woman who is critically ill after a burst gastric ulcer. Meanwhile, Aberdeen paramedics care for a man with suspected meningitis.

In Ayr, crewmates Sophie and Shelby are called to a critical incident involving a woman who has suffered a burst gastric ulcer and is losing pints of blood. The team must act fast to take their patient to resus, the part of a hospital reserved for the most serious emergencies.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen-based paramedic Andrew, technician Simon and student Matthew treat Patrick, who is displaying a range of worrying symptoms, including a worsening headache, a rash and a sensitivity to light. The team can鈥檛 rule out meningitis but encounter a queue of ambulances outside Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. As Patrick鈥檚 condition deteriorates, the crew must administer treatment in the back of the ambulance.

In North Ayrshire, Pam and Robert of the Special Operations Response Team attend a road traffic collision involving mum Joanne and young daughter Iris. Robert has to treat the pair calmly and reassuringly as they cope with the immediate aftermath of an upsetting incident.

And just outside Dundee, ambulance teammates Chloe and David are called to a local police station where a man is trying to calm himself after taking an overdose of base, a particularly potent form of crack cocaine.
