Is it dangerous to boost my testosterone?
Stacey meets young men who T-maxx – taking a ‘manhood shot’ of testosterone that pumps them up but can also reduce their sperm count, and questions if fast food can cure migraines.
Stacey travels to Florida to meet fitness influencer and T-maxxer Adam Katz. He’s part of wave of young men boosting their testosterone to get pumped bodies and appear as manly as possible to the opposite sex. But this boost might just be skin deep as Stacey explores evidence suggesting long term use can permanently lower your sperm count and even risks shrinking your testicles.
She then discovers that this particular social craze may not be so modern after all as she follows a trail that leads her to Wolverhampton Wanderers and a bizarre revelation that the FA Cup final in 1939 was nicknamed the 'Monkey Gland Final' after several players had testosterone-boosting injections before the game.
Migraines can be so severe that they trigger headaches and vomiting that last for hours, so Stacey is intrigued by a social trend that claims they can be cured by a fast food meal. She explores with the doctors if there could be a kernel of scientific truth in the claims.
