Mahler's Fourth Symphony from the 麻豆社 Proms

Linton Stephens introduces a week of music from some of Europe鈥檚 great summer festivals and the 麻豆社 Proms.

Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin conducts the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in two contrasting works by Gustav Mahler: the intimate, lyrical 搁眉肠办别谤迟-尝颈别诲别谤, sung by mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, and the radiant Fourth Symphony.

From Montpellier, pianist Bertrand Chamayou performs a selection of Mendelssohn鈥檚 Songs without Words, while in Beaune, Emmanuelle Ha茂m leads Le Concert d鈥橝str茅e in Domenico Scarlatti鈥檚 graceful and devotional Salve Regina.
