Mirga Gra啪inyt臈鈥怲yla (conductor)

Powerhouse conductor Mirga Gra啪inyt臈-Tyla and the Oslo Philharmonic team up with maverick virtuoso Patricia Kopatchinskaja for Stravinsky鈥檚 Bach-inspired Violin Concerto 鈥 a ferociously demanding work that showcases all the violinist鈥檚 signature 鈥榖eauty, passion and imagination鈥. Shakespeare鈥檚 warring families and passionate young lovers come to life in excerpts from Prokofiev鈥檚 Romeo and Juliet, and the concert opens with Norwegian composer 脴yvind Torvund鈥檚 symphonic poem 鈥楩orest Morning鈥 for orchestra and electronics, in which idyllic birdsong is gradually taken over by the sounds of traffic and urban bustle.
