Seonaid Aitken is back with more of the best jazz from the UK and around the world, and she welcomes Scottish producer and multi-instrumentalist corto.alto as her mixtape guest.
Seonaid Aitken is joined by Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist and producer corto.alto, also known as Liam Shortall.
His genre-defying sound blends contemporary jazz, electronic production, hip-hop, broken beat and bass-heavy dub influences, and he is celebrated as an exciting voice in contemporary UK jazz. He was nominated for Mercury Prize in 2024 for his debut album 'Bad With Names', and he has returned with a new album called 'Some Small Fortune'.
Tonight, corto.alto shares a 30-minute mixtape curated for the programme, featuring some of his favourite jazz ensembles and artists.
