We鈥檙e celebrating 30 years of one of Britain鈥檚 most adventurous independent record labels, BBE Music.
Barely Breaking Even began life as a London club night in 1996, before growing into a label whose catalogue has travelled through soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, house and music from around the world.

Over the past three decades, BBE has worked with an extraordinary cast of artists, DJs and producers, including J Dilla, Roy Ayers, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Madlib, Pete Rock, Hugh Masekela and many more.

To mark their 30th birthday, BBE have been digging through that huge catalogue to put together a special 30-minute Trunk of Funk for the show, celebrating some of the music and artists that have developed the label over the past three decades.
