An Illuminating Excursion
From vintage pub games to charming cutlery, Tash and David trek around Tyneside, searching for illuminating finds. But what will be the catch of the day?
We鈥檙e midway through the antiques battle between top-tier auctioneer Natasha Raskin Sharp and dapper dealer David Harper. They鈥檙e racing around Tyneside in their big beast, a 1975 Ford Bronco, which is still a little tricky to tame. With the competition heating up, our two are still on the hunt for tempting treasures to bowl over bidders at auction.
In the shops, David tests his profit-hunting instincts with an old pub game, which claimed to reveal if you were safe to drive. Tash reels in some silver-plated fishy flatware and unearths the perfect piece of furniture for a Georgian bookworm.
But it鈥檚 not all antiques and collectibles. The pair take a detour into Newcastle to discover an unsung local hero whose illuminating invention lit up the entire world and beat his more famous American counterpart to the punch.
Then it鈥檚 off to auction, where David and Tash hope their treasures will light up the sale room. But what will be the catch of the day and who will be left floundering?
