The eclectic classical mix
Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical favourites, including music by Elgar, Bernstein and Handel.
Today's 30鈥憁inute sequence begins with the gentle and calming combination of clarinet and piano from the composer Camille Saint鈥慡a毛ns, before venturing to the Bavarian Highlands in Edward Elgar鈥檚 鈥極n the Alm鈥� arranged for chorus and orchestra. The sequence concludes with the captivating sound of Rebecca Clarke鈥檚 Daybreak. It arrives there via a reflective moment from Leonard Bernstein鈥檚 鈥楢 Quiet Place鈥�, taken from the 1983 opera of the same name, the elaborate and expressive tones of George Frideric Handel鈥檚 'I Know That My Redeemer Liveth', and a beautifully pensive piece by film composers Anthony John and Alexandra Harwood, 'Beginning at the End', from the movie 'The Escape'.
