Jennifer Jones takes your calls on public service broadcasting, weight loss and the impact of international events

Should we all pay a universal licence fee? Have you been on a weight loss journey? And has an international incident ever made a lasting impact on you?

What should the future of public broadcasting look like in the UK? The 麻豆社 is looking to cut up to 2,000 jobs as part of a 拢500m savings plan. 麻豆社 Wales announced yesterday that 45 jobs will go, alongside 20 hours of television programming, and several radio programmes . Former acting chair of the 麻豆社 Board, Dame Elan Closs Stephens, told Radio Wales Breakfast that 鈥榳e鈥檙e at a cliff edge of the future of public service broadcasting.鈥 She鈥檚 suggested that there could be a universal licence fee that we all pay 鈥 do you agree?

The boss of Timpsons has said that the company has seen a 680% increase in customers asking for extra belt holes due to losing weight. It has been attributed to the rising popularity of Ozempic and Mounjaro in the UK. But, have you been on a weight loss journey, and how has it changed your life?

And we鈥檙e asking today if an international incident has ever made a lasting impact on you. It may be seeing images from a warzone, or perhaps the aftermath of a natural disaster. The former war reporter, Martin Bell will join us, to talk about how his experiences on the frontline in Sarajevo affected him. Bell has worked as a 麻豆社 foreign correspondent, an independent MP and an UNICEF ambassador. And for 30 years he鈥檚 supported the charity Hope and Homes for Children, which works to reunite children split from their families during times of war.
