Linton Stephens showcases superb performances from the UK and beyond.

Our week on Classical Live begins with a live concert from Wigmore Hall in London, where violinist Elena Urioste and pianist Tom Poster perform sonatas by Dora Peja膷evi膰 and Johannes Brahms, as well as a lilting nocturne by Dvorak.

We鈥檒l also be paying visits to festivals in Denmark and Switzerland this week 鈥� today you can hear a song-cycle by Beethoven and cello meditations by Leonard Bernstein. There will be contributions from the 麻豆社 orchestras throughout the week, too 鈥� as Radio is celebrates the music of Black British composers and artists across the week, Samantha Ege joins the 麻豆社 Philharmonic for a performance of Avril Coleridge-Taylor鈥檚 Piano Concerto at 2pm. George Jackson conducts The Ulster Orchestra in Schubert鈥檚 鈥淯nfinished鈥� Symphony to end the programme. And we鈥檒l also be hearing from Radio 3鈥檚 current New Generation Baroque Ensemble 鈥� The Bellot Ensemble 鈥� with highlights from their recent studio recording.
