Linton Stephens showcases remarkable performances from across the UK and abroad.

The Music is Black. As part of the 麻豆社鈥檚 collaboration with the V&A East Museum exhibition, Radio 3 is celebrating the music of Black British composers and artists across the week. A specially commissioned new work inspired by the exhibition, "On the Shoulder of Aunties and Uncles", composed by Segun Akinola and recorded by the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales, will be premiered and showcased throughout the week, alongside other great music from Black British composers and favourite classical tracks performed by Black British artists.

Linton continues his week on Classical Live with visits to festivals in France and Denmark today, featuring performances of Mozart鈥檚 oboe quartet and of Rachmaninov鈥檚 impassioned 3rd Piano Concerto with soloist Isata Kenneh-Mason. Isata鈥檚 brother Sheku also joins the Classical Live party today in a recent Paris performance of Ernest Bloch鈥檚 cello rhapsody 鈥淪chelomo鈥�. We鈥檒l also hear Beethoven from The Ulster Orchestra and Jacquet de la Guerre from a recent studio recording made by Radio 3鈥檚 current New Generation Baroque Ensemble 鈥� The Bellot Ensemble.
