Jeffrey Donaldson, the former DUP leader, MP, and knight of the realm is due to be sentenced for 18 charges of child sex abuse, including rape. The 63-year-old was convicted in June after a trial lasting four weeks. His wife Eleanor Donaldson had faced a trial of the facts on mental health grounds and was found to have aided and abetted his offending. Eleanor Donaldson will be sentenced at a later date.
The State of Us podcast, which followed the trial in detail, will be back at Newry Crown Court as Judge Paul Ramsey hands down the prison sentence. He had previously told Jeffrey Donaldson to expect a ‘lengthy’ jail term.
Presenters Tara Mills and Declan Harvy will bring you all the detail, reaction and analysis.
