Ground level: Winning the trust of Nottingham鈥檚 inner city youth
Alternative ways of fighting gangs, drugs and antisocial behaviour in Nottingham is the idea behind a police scheme which has seen plain clothed officers regularly spending time in an inner-city youth group. Gary Godden, the head of Nottingham's black police association, spends an evening a week at the Take One community recording studio building relationships with young people considered to be at risk of being on the wrong side of the law. Speaking to 麻豆社 Radio Nottingham鈥檚 Reya El-Salahi he says that initially his presence wasn鈥檛 welcome.
