βI just adore herβ β the friendship forged at an Israeli/Palestinian cancer support group
Two women - Ruth Ebenstein, an Israeli and Ibtisam Erekat, a Palestinian - found they had breast cancer. Ruth was nursing her baby when she was diagnosed and Ibtisam was pregnant when she found a lump in her breast. They met at an Israeli/Palestinian support group called Cope and quickly became friends. The pair spoke to us from Ibtisam's home in the town of Abu Dis on the edge of Jerusalem; first, Ruth talks about the moment she heard about her diagnosis.
