Venezuela set for more protests amid claims of Washington interference
There’s growing tension in Venezuela. Large pro and anti-government rallies are due to take place on Tuesday – it follows a string of rallies in which three protesters died and hundreds were arrested. The Venezuelan president, Nicolas Maduro, has called for the arrest of the main opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, who pledged to lead Tuesday’s rally. Emiliana Duarte is an analyst and blogger, who planned to attend the anti-government rally. Later you’ll hear a response from the Venezuelan embassy in London.
