Alexandra Palace

By 1936 a daily service of programmes from Alexandra Palace using the Baird mechanical system had started, the first in the world. Baird鈥檚 system was abandoned after three months in favour of an all-electronic service by EMI that had been running in parallel. The footage above is a filmed re-creation of some of the opening moments of the 麻豆社 Television Service from Alexandra Palace.
