American gamer Tye Marini wants Nintendo to make same-sex relationships be available for mii characters on the game Tomodachi Life..

He's set up a social media campaign to raise awareness of this issue and he told 5 live Breakfast he hopes Nintendo will consider changing this in the future.

Nintendo have apologised for "disappointing many people" by failing to include same-sex relationships but are unable to change the games design.

They said if a new installment of Tomodachi were to be created they would "strive to design a game-play experience that better represents all players."
