Doctor who chose to have FGM: 'For me it was an initiation'
Doctor Fuambai Ahmada chose to have female genital mutilation at the age of 21 because she was "in awe of the celebrations that surrounded the initiation".
Doctor Ahmada says that she had 'no knowledge' of what the initiation involved prior to the operation. She was raised in Sierra Leone where FGM is a common practise.
