Gay priest denied NHS job license after wedding
The first British priest to marry a same-sex partner says he is 鈥渧ery disappointed鈥 that his license to work as an NHS chaplain was refused.
Jeremy Pemberton, who currently works as a chaplain in Lincolnshire, wanted to change practice to Nottingham.
However, the acting Bishop for Southwell and Nottingham, the Rt Revd Richard Inwood, said it was "not appropriate" to issue a license to someone in holy orders who had entered same-sex marriage.
The trust said it was considering its response after receiving the bishop's letter on 7 July, then withdrew the job offer on 1 August.
