Toby Jones on 'anxiety' of playing Stoke's Neil Baldwin
Actor Toby Jones has spoken about the pressures of playing Stoke hero Neil Baldwin, in new Â鶹Éç One biopic Marvellous.
Baldwin became a local hero in Staffordshire after overcoming his learning difficulties to become a circus clown, lay preacher, kit man at Stoke City, and a key figure on Keele University's campus.
Jones said he had an "element of dread" before filming each scene, because he worried about getting the character of Baldwin - who is still alive - right.
"There's anxiety about honouring the subject you're playing", Toby said. "But he was incredibly complimentary about my performance."
