Actress Lynda Bellingham has spoken about the moment she was told she had cancer.

The 66-year-old star was diagnosed with colon cancer, which has since spread to her lungs and liver, in July 2013.

Receiving news of her diagnosis was "very emotional", she said, as doctors had previously given mixed messages about her condition.

"I don't think anybody who has got cancer or a terminal illness can describe this moment", she said.
