Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at Everton as the champions fell two points behind league leaders Chelsea.

City took the lead when David Silva's deflected shot was glanced in by Fernandinho, although Everton claimed a handball in the build up.

Everton equalised shortly after when forward Steven Naismith headed in a Leighton Baines free-kick.
