"I was an angry teenager" and was "determined not to be bullied" said a former star of Grange Hill turned author.

Michael Obiora, who played Max Abassi in the high school drama, said his anger was a "defence mechanism" to deter bullies and was "probably the only kid in Grange Hill at that time who didn't get bullied".

He said being a child star made him "grow up a little too quickly".
