Craig said he is "too embarrassed" to have a haircut until his scalp is "feeling clear" and never takes his children swimming "in public."

More than half of all acne sufferers have experienced verbal abuse from friends and family, according to a survey by the British Skin Foundation.

It also found that a fifth of those with the skin condition have thought about or attempted suicide.
