Woman injured by truck that shouldn't have been driven
Motorist Dodi Beardshaw was seriously injured by a lorry that should have been taken off the road. The vehicle - which was carrying a wide load - had mechanical defects and the driver was working alone. The case raises questions about lorry safety - Government figures reveal that 1 in 3 HGVs stopped in roadside safety checks has serious safety problems. Other trucks were found to be overweight.
