Abdullah Dahab, from London, was hiking when an earthquake caused avalanches on the slopes of Mount Everest on Saturday 25th April 2015.

After three days with no word and with a death toll of over 4000, his sisters Noora and Sarah Dahab told Adrian Chiles they feared the worst. But twenty minutes after that interview they received a message on social media that Abdullah was safe.

His sister Noora said “it feels like a miracle has happened… it’s just a great relief after a couple of nights with no sleep. Their mother Hiba Dahab said “I was half dead and hearing his voice has brought me back to life.

She added: “the worrying hasn’t stopped yet because they still have to make the journey down the mountain.
