An 11-year-old piano prodigy from Bali, Indonesia has this month released his debut album entitled My Favourite Things. The 11-year-old Joey Alexander is also appearing at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival this year after taking the American jazz scene by storm. He was first discovered after his performances of John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and Chick Corea went viral on Youtube when he was aged only 10. Joey has now left Indonesia and has moved to New York to be closer to the jazz scene. He took time out of his busy schedule to speak to Weekend's Kate Vandy.
