Fleeing starvation and repression in North Korea
In North Korea Joseph Kim watched his father die of starvation, his mother imprisoned and his sister sold to a Chinese man. He became a homeless beggar before risking his life to flee across the border to China. His book 'Under the Same Sky: From Starvation in North Korea to Salvation in America' tells his story. He spoke to the 麻豆社's Nkem Ifejika.
