Boorman to the Queen: âYouâve turned me aroundâ from an âanti-royalistâ
John Boorman says he once told Queen Elizabeth II âIâve always been against what you are, what you stand for but youâve turned me aroundâ.
The Queen and Country director described himself as an âanti-royalistâ prior to the Queenâs visit to Ireland in 2011.
âWhen the Queen came over to Ireland, where I live, she smiled all the time, she was quite extraordinary,â said Boorman. âShe actually won me over. I told her that.â
âWhen I met her I said Iâve always been against what you are, what you stand for, but I have to say youâve turned me around,â he added.
