A daughter who gave her father an emotional send-off by floating his ashes out to sea says it is "absolutely fantastic" they have washed up in Norway.

Nicci Welsh released Brian Lynn's ashes from South Shields pier in a plastic pot on July 26th 2014.

"I was contacted a few days ago by a lovely lady called Junina from Norway to say he'd turned up just outside of her house," said Welsh.

"I was absolutely gobsmacked. I was just all over the place - screaming and shouting and crying. It was just absolutely amazing, fantastic, I couldn't believe it had actually happened," she added.
