What does a geographic profiler do?
Geographic profiler Richard Mee's main aim in his role at the NCA is to "focus on where an unknown offender lives".
Speaking to 5 live's Rachel Burden, Richard said that by narrowing a search down to a specific area it "assists an investigation to help prioritise work".
He added that it was "very rewarding" when he manages to locate an offender to a specific area that will hopefully lead to an arrest.
