Baskets of beauty
Wimbledon's head gardener Martyn Falconer explained what is required when preparing SW19's hanging baskets for the duration of the Championships.
With 15 previous tournaments behind him, and over 200 hanging baskets around the club to look after, Falconer gave his five top tips for the display:
Tip 1: 鈥榃ater every day, whether it鈥檚 raining or shining鈥�
Tip 2: 鈥楧eadhead on a regular basis鈥�
Tip 3: 鈥楽pray and check for mildew and aphids that tend to wreck the baskets鈥�
Tip 4: 鈥楩eed on a regular basis鈥�
Tip 5: 鈥榃hen you鈥檙e starting out your hanging baskets, don鈥檛 be tempted to put too many plants in鈥�
