The Labour party 鈥渉as lost core values and promotes market competition鈥�, said Dave Ward, deputy general secretary of the Communication Workers鈥� Union.

Mr Ward stood by his controversial claim that Blairites were "a virus" in the Labour Party.

But if Jeremy Corbyn was elected Labour鈥檚 leader, the party would be out of power for 15 years, said Sir Ken Jackson, former general secretary of the Amicus group.

"I don't know what Labour can do for working people when they are in permanent opposition," he said.
