Malvern's Hennesea formed four years ago as a duo and have been growing the band ever since.

They're fronted up by Anna Watts who isn't only a prolific songwriter, but is one of the most active musicians on the local scene.

The Worcester band, , surprised us all with an unbilled performance on the Âé¶¹Éç Introducing stage yesterday at the Reading Festival.

Ìýtake place simultaneously over the August bank holiday weekend and this year will see Mumford & Sons, Alt J and Metallica take the prestigious headline slots on the main stage.

For Âé¶¹Éç Introducing, this will be our eighth year of hosting our stage.
Ìý
Historically, our Reading and Leeds line-up has been one of the strongest of all our stages throughout the festival season with acts such as Slaves, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Jack Garratt making their Âé¶¹Éç Introducing debuts here.

The artists on this year's Reading and Leeds line-up sent their music to us via the and have been supported by their local Âé¶¹Éç Introducing show.

A panel of respected producers and presenters from across Âé¶¹Éç Radio 1, Âé¶¹Éç Radio 2 and 6 Music have helped build the very exciting selection of acts.Ìý

A huge event celebrating local music has been taking place at the Stourport Civic Centre today.

The team behind the Wyre Forest Music Scene Facebook page are hosting a variety of acts in aid of the Crackerjacks Children's Trust and to improve the facilities at the hall.

The Mayor of Stourport, Cliff Brewer, officially opened the celebration - which includes music from , , , Ellisha Green, fAITH, Stuart Woolfenden and many more.Ìý

This year they've booked UB40, Gabrielle, Suzi Quatro, ABC, Bad Manners, Chas 'n' Dave, The Real Thing, Shawaddywaddy and The Wurzels.

It's on the riverside at Fish Meadow and offers camping facilities.

This month's sessions were recorded at the Colwall Family Music Festival, near Ledbury.

Since 2014, the organisers have made it their mission to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation.

The event is run by Neil Collins who owns a sound and lighting hire company and was the man behind Re-Con in Great Malvern.

The Worcester Show

The Worcester Show

The Worcester Show began a few years back when the city council decided to organise a flower festival over on Gheluvelt Park.

Since then, they've decided it's a lot more than just plants that blossom when given the right level of exposure so their remit has grown to showcase all sorts of local talent.

On stage included folk favourites and Âé¶¹Éç Hereford & Worcester's Nina Das Gupta chatted to the band as they came off stage.

Our next recording session takes place at Drummonds in Worcester, on Sunday 20 September from 2pm, as part of this year's Worcester Music Festival.

The event has been compared to a local version of SXSW with several pubs and clubs around the city hosting live music with song-writing workshops also taking place during the weekend.

It was founded in 2008 by Chris Bennion who makes Worcestershire Sauce who wanted his area to be known for more than just Lea & Perrins.
