As the new season of the English Premier League Football kicks off – so does the commentary from Âé¶¹Éç Africa. Rajan Datar goes behind the scenes of the four language services which are bringing the commentary to avid fans across the continent. The guided tour is led by Aliyu Tanko – the commentator for Âé¶¹Éç Hausa who gives the audience an inside scoop into the output from Âé¶¹Éç Afrique, Âé¶¹Éç Swahili, Âé¶¹Éç Somali and his own station. Rajan and Aliyu also discuss how English commentary is adapted for the African audience and what it means to have a world famous sport broadcast in their nations’ languages.
