It's been confirmed that One Direction will take a hiatus of at least a year to pursue solo projects.

Dan Wootton, who's head of showbiz at the Sun Newspaper, told 5live "it's all over for the band come March".

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan have mutually agreed to an extended hiatus of at least a year to pursue solo projects.

They made the decision not to tour again at a meeting last weekend.

They say the split has nothing to do with Zayn Malik leaving the band earlier this year.
