"A Tragic Goodbye to Our Heritage"
Islamic State militants have blown up the ancient temple of Baal Shamin in the city of Palmyra. Nervana Mahmoud, a doctor and writer on Middle East issues tweeted: "A tragic goodbye to our heritage." Dr. Amr al-Azm was a former director of conservation at Syria's Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums, now in exile in the United States gave his reaction.
