Parents reunited with baby after "child swap plot"

A couple in Texas who've been reunited with their newborn son after accusing a doctor at a hospital in El Salvador of swapping him believe they were victims of an alleged child trafficking plot.

British-born Richard Cushworth and his Salvadoran wife Mercedes Casanellas had a DNA test after becoming suspicious about why the baby looked nothing like them.

Tanya Eiserer of the Dallas-based WFAA TV who broke the story, said: "They had taken pictures of the child at birth and when they bought the baby back to her a day and a half later she said that's not my baby. That baby was much darker than the child she had given birth to."

The doctor, who denies any wrongdoing, is now being prosecuted by the authorities.
