The toll of war in Syria
As the migrant crisis continues across Europe, most of those heading to the EU come from war-torn Syria, according to the UN. The war itself has killed more than 200,000 people in the country, with one estimate suggesting the Syrian army las lost 80,000 men.
The 麻豆社's Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen sent this report from the port city of Latakia, a strong hold of President Assad's regime.
